The Beginnings

Admittedly, I was a chronic nail biter for most of my life. I'd chew when I was anxious, bored or hungry. As a teen, I'd get nail polish from time to time and would attempt to paint my stubs. Yeah, no. It just wasn't something I was interested in. Besides, it wouldn't last more than a couple hours before I'd have most of it chewed off.

Fast forward to 2010. I was browsing pictures of random artsy stuff online and noticed a picture of water marbled nails. It looked sooo pretty. For whatever reason, it really intrigued me so a couple days later, I went out and got some white, pink, purple and black polish, sat down to a detailed YouTube tutorial and gave it an honest try. It was a disaster! I had polish all over my desk, all over my hands and as for my nails, it was just a thick, gooey mess. I was determined though. After a few tries, I started to get the hang of it. Minus a few bubbles, I had the technique pretty much down. Success!

That was what kicked off my polish addiction. Soon, I was buying polish every chance I had. Always looking at new colors, scoping out discount bins and ordering nail art supplies online.

I love watching videos and trying out new techniques. So many cool things can be done on these little digit canvases. Using things like striping tape, sponges, water, glitter, stickers, decals, paintbrushes and stamps, you can create some amazing designs that get a lot of compliments and can match any look you're going for. I love matching my nails to certain holidays/seasons. Especially Christmas.

Now, I have around 150-160 bottles of polish (not too bad!) and a bin full of random supplies.

I will try to post pictures, hauls and tips regularly, but I make no promises.

Happy nail painting!
